My haiku:
“A Poppy Blooms” by Katsushika Hokusai
I write, erase, rewrite
Erase again, and then
A poppy blooms.
For my third and final poster, I was asked to design a storyboard. This poster was to be the same size ( 40cm by 40cm) as my first poster, and had to include 12 different panels . I started by choosing a key theme from my haiku, I chose Perseverance, and sketching various storyboard designs.

Some of my initial sketches for poster 3
Out of all of my posters, poster 3 was the hardest for me to do. Partially because my drawing ability was not at the point where I could put my ideas onto paper/a computer, and partially because I was constantly stumped by one of the required elements that my storyboard was meant to show "the reveal" because of this I restarted both my poster and my story multiple times.

One of my failed prototype storyboards
I chose to create my storyboard in Adobe Photoshop, using pixel art to create the various scenes. I also used a website called pixilart.com/draw ( an online specialized pixel art software) to create some of the sprites.

Blank canvas I used in Photoshop to create various sprites.
The final story I settled on was that, a helicopter flies onto the roof of the building and main character (blue man) gets out. he is greeted by two bad guy characters (red man 1 and red man 2) who blue man then dispatches. After taking the lift down to the basement, he then reaches the the treasure room. Before he can the chest, another red man (red man 3) comes out behind him (from a previously closed door) and takes blue man out. The final panel is of a game over screen, with blue man selecting the restart button. This ties into the theme of perseverance and continuing after a failure.
